A seasoned executive and leader in the automotive industry, Jacob Tilzer has built his career around specialized, fragmented segments within the auto repair space. In 2012, he founded Kaizen Auto Care—a full-service automotive platform of over 800 team members that expanded to 50 collision repair locations, 10 mechanical and calibration centers, and a multi-state mobile auto glass operation. Rooted in a deeply people-focused culture, the company grew into one of the largest automotive aftermarket repair providers in the country, ultimately leading to a successful private equity acquisition in 2024.
Jacob began his professional journey in dealership fixed operations before transitioning into mechanical aftermarket and collision repair services. His leadership has consistently emphasized operational excellence, scalable growth, and technology-driven performance improvement.
He has served on multiple boards, including Kaizen Collision, the State Farm Collision Committee, and Rivian Collision. Jacob is also active in the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) and the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), where he mentors other leaders and shares insights from his entrepreneurial journey. He currently serves on the board of Petra Cares, a nonprofit that supports youth aging out of the foster care system through automotive technician training and mentorship.
Outside of work, Jacob is passionate about giving back to the boxing community, training and mentoring young fighters in life skills grounded in the discipline of the sport. He also enjoys spending weekends with his family, hiking, biking, and drag racing.
